High Power Rocket Launch - Fall Fire 2010
The Saskatoon Rocketry Society will be hosting a fall HPR launch. The launch will be held North of Kitscoty, AB on Saturday October 16th, 2010 from 08:00 - 17:00. If the weather is bad we have a backup date of Sunday October 17th. We are expecting a ceiling of 20,000' AGL. The launch is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend. There will be flights with rocket motors sized A - L! We hope that you will join us for this exciting event. Please contact me if you are planning to attend and fly.
Everyone wishing to fly High Power Rockets must have a valid CAR or other HPR membership card with them.
Registration: Fliers must register to fly.
- Juniors (under 18) flying Models only – Free
- Juniors (under 18) flying High Power - $20.00
- Seniors (over 18) flying Models only - $10.00
- Seniors (over 18) flying High Power - $25.00
We will have Hot Dogs available from 12:00 - 13:00, chips, pop, coffee, and bottled water will also be for sale during the day of the launch. Anticipated ceiling for the launch is 20,000' AGL. Pads available for rockets with motor sizes A - L. Hybrid GSE will be available for use. Rockets L sized or heavier then 20 lbs - Contact me at least 3 weeks prior to launch to ensure that we can accommodate your project.
High Power Rocket launch site information
The current HPR launch site is located just North-West of Kitscoty, AB. It is about a 4 hour trip along Highway 16
from Saskatoon, but it is worth it.
Directions to the site: Turn North off of highway 16 on highway 897 at Kitscoty (East side). Go 9 km to TWP 514/ Streamstown
road. Turn East and go 1.6 km. Turn North and go 1 km. Signs will be posted on the side of the roads.
